Flower care guide
Simple steps to keep your blooms fresh and fabulous!
1. Start with a Clean Vase
Thoroughly wash your vase with warm, soapy water before use. A clean vase helps prevent bacteria, which can clog stems and shorten the life of your flowers.
2. Trim the Stems
Cut 2-3cm off the bottom of each stem at a 45° angle using sharp scissors or a knife. This allows for more surface area to drink from. Re-trim every 2–3 days to re-open the stems.
3. Add Fresh Water
Fill your clean vase about two-thirds full with room-temperature tap water. Avoid hot or very cold water, which can shock the flowers.
4. Remove Lower Leaves
Pluck off any leaves that would sit below the waterline. This helps prevent bacteria from growing in the water.
5. Pick the Right Spot
Place your flowers in a cool area, away from direct sunlight, heaters, or drafts.
6. Refresh Every Few Days
Change the water and clean the vase every 2–3 days. Re-trim stems each time to keep flowers hydrated and happy.
7. Keep Away from Fruit
Ripening fruit gives off ethylene gas, which can cause flowers to age faster. Keep flowers away from any fruit.
If your flowers arrive in a water bag, simply cut it off over a sink and start from step one. You can keep the paper around the flowers or remove it.
If your flowers arrive in a floral foam, water like a plant every 3-4 days to keep the foam wet.
